Hidden Beaches In Goa To Get Away From The Crowd

Located almost 13 km from Panaji, Sinquerim Beach is one of the best hidden beaches in Goa. The famous Aguada a Portuguese Fort is located just a stone's throw away from Sinquerim beach. If you love water sports, this is the beach to visit. Although it does get a little crowded during season time due to tourists visiting the Aguada Fort, it is quieter and peaceful on the other days of the year and should be visited.

Located in the North of Palolem Beach, Butterfly beach is a part of the beautiful Arabian Sea. The beach is named so because the beach sustains the life of many different varieties of butterflies. The beach is surrounded by forest and thick trees and bushes so getting to this place by road via bike or car is difficult, which makes it one of the best hidden beaches in Goa. The most convenient way to travel here is by taking a boat ride to Palolem beach and walk towards the butterfly beach. The water here is clear and not very deep, so if you’re lucky early morning you can witness the sea urchins, sea cucumbers, and crabs.

Agonda is another quiet and hidden beach in Goa located just 15 minutes from Palolem. This is also one of the beaches that are home to the olive ridley turtles to lay eggs. It is advisable for swimming provided you stay within the swimming limits. There are not many stalls at the beach just a few locals, but close to the beach area there are guesthouses and restaurants.

Situated in the south of the famous Arambol Beach, Ashwem Beach is another example of an isolated beach in Goa. There are hardly any people around. This beach is famous because it is the place where Olive Ridley Turtles come to shore to lay their eggs. Ashwem Beach requires a bit of travel to get to and the best means is to hire or have a bike.

Cola beach, also known as 'Khola' beach, is one of the hidden gems of South Goa. Located in the Canacona area, the golden sand beach is peppered with volcanic boulders. The beach does not receive many visitors as it is off the beaten path, hidden by thickly overgrown hills, with a decent stretch of a rather rocky terrain to be crossed before arriving at this natural paradise. This makes Cola Beach perfect for sunbathers.

One of the most isolated beaches of Goa also known as the ‘Tiger Beach’ and is located south of Cabo de rama beach. It is difficult to reach this beach by foot as it will require climbing up many steps and pass through narrow paths. It is easier to get here by a boat or a motorboat. This is a place where you can just relax that’s when you finally reach it. Due to the complexity of reaching the place the people who go here are really less mostly it is either nature lovers or adventurers. There is even a small spring that flows into the sea. The view of the Beach from the hills is just breathtaking. There are no shacks or places to stay so it is quite clean.

The Velsao Beach is very close to the Dabolim airport making it convenient to visit on the day when you are leaving provided that you don’t get lost in its serenity and beauty. The Velsao Beach is famous for its white shell founds all over the seashore as well as the starfish. The beach is also filled with coconut trees so be careful where you’re resting for shade.

Betul Beach is a serene and peaceful beach located next to Mobor Beach in South Goa. This beautiful beach rests right at the delta of Sal River, thus affording a gorgeous view of the serene sea. The beach itself has soft silvery sand, fringed by looming fruit trees and swaying palms. The foothills of the Western Ghats form the backdrop of Betul Beach, offering a 360-degree natural panorama.

Galgibaga Beach is one of Goa's most scenic beaches located on the banks of the Galgibag river in Canacona, South Goa. Along with its unspoiled natural charm, it is also one of the three beaches of Goa known to be a nesting site for the Olive Ridley turtles. This pristine beach has often been termed as one of the cleanest beaches in India.

Hollant Beach located in South Goa near Bogmalo is the only beach in Goa where one can witness a sunrise. Covered in soft sheets of golden sand, the pristine beach offers splendid views of the southern coast of Goa meeting the playful foothills of the Western Ghats, forming a surreal scenic panorama and is one of the most serene hidden beaches in Goa.

Located in South Goa between Colva Beach and Majorda Beach, Betalbatim Beach is one of the quieter beaches of Goa. Lined with a plethora of fast food chains, local restaurants and spas, the highlight of the beach is the easy spotting of the dolphins. You can ask the local fishermen who can hike you a ride in a sea to have a glimpse of the dolphins.

Kalacha Beach, also known as Paliem Beach, is one of the unexploited beaches of Goa. Known for its sweet water lagoon, Kalacha Beach is located towards the south of Sinquerim Beach which can be accessed from Arambol Beach on foot. A hilltop near the beach is famous for paragliding while the secluded beach provides for a tranquil escape for tourists.

Siridao Beach is a rocky beach popular for the mysterious caves, located at the mouth of Zuari River a few kilometres from Panjim in Goa. It is also known as "The Shell Collector's Beach" owing to a large number of pearl shells and oysters that wash ashore. This beach sees a limited number of tourists. The view of the sunset from Siridao Beach is gorgeous.
