Lound in the southeastern part of Hong Kong Island, Shek O Beach is a popular public beach in the area. Big Wave Bay Beach next to Shek O is one of Hong Kong's favorite surf spots for its easy waves, making it a great surfing site for beginners. Situated on the eastern edge of Hong Kong Island, the Big Wave Bay Beach houses ancient rock carvings that were recently declared a monument. Quite close to the Dragon's Back hike, this beach is the perfect respite after the trail.

Located in the Southern District, Repulse Bay is one of the most beautiful public beaches in Hong Kong with a crescent-shaped sand stretch. Hung Shing Yeh Beach is the most popular beach of Lamma Island. Absorbed in a serene environment and clear waters, this beach also provides toilets, changing rooms and showering facilities besides nine barbeque pits. The Lamma Power Station is also visible from this picnic-perfect beach.
Located on the eastern shore of Clearwater Bay Peninsula, this bay comprises two beaches. Its pristine, pure sand and glistening water are positively tropical. You can see the nearby country park from here, and it offers picture-perfect views of the park's steep mountains plus the sharp tip of High Junk Peak.
Pui O beach is located on the southeastern side of Lantau Island. It is a haven for buffaloes and several birds. There is a free campsite located here which is operated by LCSD. This beach is near Tong Fuk Village where there are a host of scenic views. It is a quiet beach with fine sand, great for swimming and sunbathing.
Located in Mui Wo and named after its alternative name, the Silvermine Bay Beach has all the benefits of being close to the Mui Wo Village- the local-cooked food markets, seafood restaurants and some good bars. It's a favourite family beach with its glorious 688 feet of white sand and amidst the beautiful emerald-green mountains!
A 656 foot-long sweep of sand on the southern coast of the New Territories, the Lido beach offers glorious views of Tsing Ma in the distance and is also near the sister beach of Casam. It features all facilities like several volleyball courts, refreshment shacks, lifeguards, changing rooms and showers/bathrooms, making it perfect for a good swim!
A top-rated windsurfing beach, the Kwun Yam Beach is where Olympic champion Lee Lai-Shaan trained. It is a golden sand beach with charming little beachside cafes and all the surfing plus canoeing equipment you'll ever need! It's also possible to see unique coastal rock formations and the mini great wall from here.
The largest public beach in Teun Mun and creatively named by the Gold Coast Resort, the Golden Beach boasts of immaculate and silky-soft sand from Hainan Island. It spans half a kilometre and features a volleyball court, barbecue area, and changing facilities. All in all, it is a must-see for every beach lovers' itinerary!
With silky, icing-sugar sands, Long Ke Wan beach has been lauded as one of the best beaches in Hong Kong. It looks straight out of the Philippines thanks to the white sand, clear water and forested hillside. This place rewards visitors with sweeping views of the South China Sea.
A dinky wonder of golden sand, Turtle Cove Beach located in Tai Tam is for the dedicated sun-seekers as it is hemmed by bucolic greenery on both sides and just a few palm trees or two for any shade. A wide sandy crescent amidst a secluded bay lined by trees, Chung Hom Kok beach is perfect for unwinding in a less crowded setting. The Lo So Shing Beach on Lamma Island, Hong Kong is one of the finest beaches in the city. It lies on the west coast of the Island which requires a 15-minute walk west of Hilltop Pavilion. Featuring glistening crystal clear water and golden fine sand, Lo So Shing Beach has been classified as one of Hong Kong’s cleanest beaches. The beach is set off from the rest of the ocean via a shark net providing a fairly confined area for swimming.

The Middle Bay beach of Hong Kong is a serene and secluded stretch of golden yellow sand situated just a stone throw away from the more popular Repulse Bay Beach. This location of South Bay Road can also be described as a small inlet in between its grander cousins i.e. Repulse Bay Beach and the South Bay Beach, hence the name. The scenic Middle Bay Beach offers a natural view and hours of fun for the avid beachgoers.
One of the most popular sand stretches on Lamma Island; this beach is located near the Yung Shue Wan Village, giving you access to several shops having snorkelling gear, towels, fast food snacks among more. The beach itself is dog-friendly and also organises many festivals such as outdoor cinema, reggae festival, dragon boat festival and Lamma family festival.
Located on the Southern West side of Lantau Island, Tong Fuk Beach is marked by its calm waves and soft sand. It is near the Tong Fuk Village, which boasts of some amazing quality restaurants like The Gallery Bar and Restaurant. It is within walking distance of many beach bars too so you can go for a swim in peace and explore the other attractions of Lantau Island.
A short walk south of Stanley Village which has a small craft market, open-air cafes and a seafront promenade, St Stephen's beach has a bit of everything; from snack stands to barbeque pits. The beach also hosts a comprehensive water sports centre so you can hire a sailboat, kayak, anything you'd want to experience!
