The reception staff were highly incompetent, and very bad communication between them, and with us. Initially I had booked a double room for myself. Later on, a friend decided to join and contacted the hotel to add one more person. I also contacted the hotel, and they told us to speak to booking.com. We did, and they added the person to the reservation. On our arrival for check-in, they said that the room was still meant for 1 person (so no update on the booking in their system), but they checked us in anyways and said they would confirm with the manager the day after if any alterations or additional payments were needed. The day after, we came down to check with the same reception staff, and they said all was sorted and no extra charge would be applied. And we didn't hear from them throughout the stay. Until the penultimate day, when they suddenly blocked our room card keys, and I went down to resolve. Reception staff then proceeded to look through their papers for 45 min, until hey finally called the manager who had managed my booking, and the only thing he could offer was for me to pay an additional 50% of the initial price to settle their accounts. No flexibility or regret was shown from their end. I ask WHY that information was only conveyed on the penultimate days nd why they gave me wrong information initially, and then did NOT look for me earlier to enquire into the case. Really, really disappointing. Apart from that, the reception staff did not tell us initially about the Wifi, did not send someone to fix the safe box (despite us informing them of the issue), and did not explain the procedure of requesting pool towels on our arrival (and then mixed up the rooms and towels). A total chaos.
