I actually didn't stay. It was for my parents in law. I booked it as a surprise for my girlfriend but...
1,5 week before hand they send me a message via Booking.com. that we would be moved to a sister hotel (Mercure 4*) because they are going to do works. The way they wrote the original message, it looked that my parents in law would be staying in the other hotel (Mercure) for the whole stay. I've texted them that everything will be okay if we check in there and they replied "yes". Then 3 days before hand I got another message via Booking.com saying they would only stay there 3 days. 3 days during the works and then have to change to the other (original hotel Mercure 3*). I was furious. Because the original message was totally not clear about this. I understand that they need to to works. But honestly, letting me know this 1,5 week before hand, that's just too short of a time and unprofessional. And they expected me to accept or get my money back and search something different in the Christmas period in a main city??? I told them this was unprofessional, their answer (from front desk manager) "it is professional". Sorry you can't expect people to be able to change 3 days before hand. So I called the sister hotel Mercure and got the front desk manager Michelle on the phone. She was SUPER understanding and professional! She settled this issue without any issue after one call. I wished I could review Mercure instead of this hotel (Astoria 3*). But this hotel, so unprofessional and can't review the room and hotel itself. But the service is a big minus!!!
