    Amazing cave hotel
    Perfect hotel! In every aspects! Big and specious room, the design of the hotel is amazing. It was the best decision to choose this cave hotel in the city of caves. The hotel offers delicious breakfast with wide range of selection. Very helpful and friendly staff. I will definitely choose this hotel again when I visit Matera again. From the hotel everything was within a few minutes walking distance.

    Modern design in the caves. The view was amazing, the staff is excellent. They are so sweet and help with very thing. The breakfast is toooo good. The room is amazing and the shower is amazing. Rooms are big and spacious.

    Very good Matera experience right in the heart of the town!
    The experience in Matera was as expected. The rooms were very spacious and the bed was clean and comfortable. I don't usually spent much time in the rooms, but since I travel for photography (and to acquire life experiences) I always aim to get a room with a desk so I can work a few photos at night. This was not possible in Matera. I did not get the exact room I saw in the photo when I booked, but the one I got was fine for the amount of time I was in it.
    the configuration in the bathroom (very little room to have your own toiletries) but it has the right water pressure so it compensates.

    Enjoyable, lovely and we felt welcomed and safe. So appreciative
    Reception was kind and welcoming. Mario the driver was a big help with driving and our luggage. Sara was a fabulous guide. We loved her. Hotel was beautiful and clean. Would have enjoyed cut up fresh fruit for breakfast. We loved our stay in Matera and Cenobio felt safe and homey. When you travel so far to Italy, it is a wonderful experience to stay at Cenobio because theh welcome you like family. Thank you for taking such good care of us!
    Not a big deal but the stairs were a bit hard to get there each time.

    Authentic cave like hotel, new and confortable.
    The service was very very good including recomendations for english guided tours, restaurants for lunch and dinner. The hotel was right in rhe middle of the old town so it felt really authentic and a Must to stay a night when visiting Matera
    For the same reasons staying in an old town emplies no direct car access and stairs and alleys to access hotels. Be aware of bringing in very little and minimum luggage.

    Exceptional authenticity and comfortable modernity in the heart of sassi
    The room was spacious and comfortable. It was a real feast for the eyes. We have not stayed in a nicer hotel. Everything is thought out down to the last detail, authenticity intertwines with comfortable modernity. You can even see fossils in the ceiling and walls! Very comfortable bed, amazing shower and spa bath. The front desk is staffed by wonderful and helpful people. They can order you dinner at a selected restaurant, excursions, etc. We were particularly impressed by the breakfast buffet lady. Her warmth and smile made the all days special. Thank you very much! Shower facilities could be replenished more often (we stayed 4 nights). Could also be a couple of simple wine glasses (we only found two plastic ones, which were later thrown away by the maid). It doesn't matter if you choose the hotel for one or several nights, it will definitely not disappoint you. Both a great location and an exclusive interior and warm staff.

    Overall was extremely pleased with this hotel. It is new, well designed, just a great boutique hotel with wonderful vistas of the city. The staff is exceptional, specially Mario took a liking to us and insured we knew the perfect restaurants, etc. We stayed here with our family of four including two young children in the family suite and were extremely impressed.
