When we arrived the lights were on and the gas fireplace already lit. It made the cottage feel warm and welcoming. The weather was quite chilly when we visited - but having the fireplace there made a huge difference to how we felt. What a great place to stay in winter!
The kitchen was well stocked - good selection of plates and glasses, serving dishes, cookware. Plenty of everything and all immaculately clean. Lots of windows bringing in light and making things look bright and airy - but completely private, and very quiet.
The bed was exceptionally comfortable - a firm mattress (one of the best I've every slept on - but I like a very firm mattress), cozy doona and plenty of pillows (I noticed a previous reviewer said the pillows needed to be replaced... looks like the owners did that).
Lots of comfortable places to sit outside, both in front of the cottage and out the back. It was too chilly to do that when we visited, but in the warmer months it would be such a delight to relax outside. The well-tended garden surrounding the cottage is gorgeous - with little sculptures and whatnots that made it truly charming. While having breakfast we sat and watched a honey eater sipping nectar from a flowering shrub just outside the window.
