Nothing about this place to recommend to other like minded female sole visitors. I had stipulated that l would be at the premises by 2pm and yet no one was manning the reception desk and l could not access the premises as l had not been given any codes to do so prior to travelling. The week before l suddenly got an email from SYED telling me that l could get in to my room late at 11pm. Clearly l was being mixed up with other guests and so l phoned Syed who assured me that he would be at the Guest house to book me in at 2pm. However, l had to rely on a departing guest to use their mobile phone to get me a code to even get into the Guest House. Syed then did manage to phone my mobile before the battery went to instruct me to get my key from the Reception desk at the back of the property. No one was there so l had to hunt around the desk where l eventually found loads of unattended keys for the rooms. Syed had told me to take room 3 which turned out to be 3 single beds when l had requested a double room. I pushed 2 single beds together only to find filth on the floor and dust on the skirting boards. In the meantime, Syed was phoning my mobile to DEMAND that l put a key back in the outer key safe as " he would not be able to get in himself again ".
I requested that Syed came to see me at the premises to discuss my booking:his reply was that he was "very ill". Clearly no other person could also be bothered to come to ensure that my booking was as l had already paid for via Booking.com. It was a Saturday afternoon and close to Christmas so other important matters for the management of this Guest House were obviously more pressing to them. Room 3 was smelly and l could not decide where the offending aroma was coming from but the skylight blinds/shading were moldy and seriously in need of cleaning or replacing. One of the bed spreads on one of the single beds was stained and as such l did not go near it.
