Superb

A luxury African experience.

Kibo Camp was exactly what my husband and I were looking for. It was a beautiful tented camp with great service. All the staff were delightful and we particularly enjoyed the pizza and massage. We will most definitely be back!

We couldn't reach the reception as there was no phones in the room. It wasn't really a big deal but it would've been nice given how far our room was from the reception. I'd still go back though.

Well cared for and catered to as a solo vegetarian traveller.

I arrived as a solo traveller making his own way there, which I gather is not very common. Most guests seem to be on tours or packages. The staff seemed to recognise this and made a real effort to make me feel welcome and cared for, which was lovely. The facilities were great, the place was clean, and the food in particular was excellent. Lots of variety in the buffet and great options for a vegetarian like myself.

Outstanding staff at facility.

The staff at the facility - Duncan, Ida and Lucy in particular - were exceptionally helpful for my wife, who had experienced a pulled muscle that limited her activity.

I had made a paid reservation with Booking.com, which the reception staff said had been cancelled at the time of our check-in. As a result, I had to pay on site for our stay. Booking.com helped clear up the double payment,

Very relaxing stay, beautiful views of Kilimanjaro. If combined with Maasai Mara, go here first.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming, the food was good with a lot of choice every day. The camp was very quiet at night and we managed to have a good rest.

I think the lack of wifi signal inside tents can be easily solved with some modern and affordable solutions, though overall it wasn't a big deal.

Excellent food, very spacious family accommodation and wonderful staff who made our stay easy, comfortable and enjoyable (no mean feat when travelling with small children)

Lunch and dinner buffet could have started a bit earlier (from 1200 for lunch and 6.30 for dinner) this would have helped families travelling with children.

Good

Close to Amboseli Park and Spacious Tent with Nice, Hot Shower

The location is close to Amboseli National Park. My room rate was inclusive of breakfast, lunch and dinner, but you have to pay for all drinks, even water. The tent style is cool, the room is spacious and the showers is nice - hot water. Theres a fridge in the room too and fans. The turn down service is nice too. Lastly, the staff were friendly.

The bed mattress was a bit hard and the towels were pretty worn. I didnt think it provided a good view of Kilimanjaro - we didnt see it as this camp, which couldve been because of the clouds and where the camp is, but saw it much clearer at another camp.

Fine and Comfortable but Price Tag Isnt Justified

The rooms are spacious and attractive, and many have excellent Kilimanjaro views from the patios. Several staff members were exceptional including Josephine and Redds in the restaurant, as well as our housekeeper (Tent 21 Oct 2-4) and the hostess who wears her braids up in a bun (in case management reads this). Food was decent to good on most days and the pool was refreshing.

The hotel definitely could improve some things. First off, the price per night is crazy for what youre getting (this is not at all a luxury property). While some employees were fantastic others werent helpful at all. We werent given any basic information upon check-in about meal times, passwords, or anything. The lack of Wi-FI in tents (given the price) or any in-room coffee facilities (again, given the price) is also not really cool. Overall, the vibe can feel a bit Cruise ship (large groups from companies and elsewhere, a hit and miss buffet, and so on). But in the end its pleasant enough.
