Please ignore any review from before our stay as we were the first to stay at this property with the new owners!!! On arrival the host was super friendly and did a great job of showing us around and explaining everything, he even came back to bring a bottle opener and assist us when we managed to lock ourselves out of the villa. They had also left us 3 bottles of wine as a welcome gift. On arrival all of the doors were open in the villa with plenty of air flowing through the villa, so it wasn't until the next day that we started to notice a terrible damp and musty smell from every room.
The bathroom on the ground floor was unusable due to the terrible smell coming from the drains. There are two bedrooms on the lower ground floor which both had an unpleasant smell and the longer we stayed the worse it got. By the time we left even the pillows and mattress felt damp to the touch. We could not even use the wardrobes in these rooms due to the terrible damp smell. Clearly the house has been shut up for a while and it needs a really good airing, problems with the drains sorting and some items replacing.
The pool is also unheated so literally cannot be used until probably end of June / early July.
There is a hot tub on the terrace which is a super are to use but there was way too much chlorine in it and we when we got out we had rashes all over and couldn't use it again. The owners need to learn how to correctly dose the hot tub.
Thee was also an infestation of ants on the terrace which the owner refused to do anything about, it required fully cleaning!
There also state 4 bedrooms, the fourth bedroom is part of an annexe which is actually a sofa bed. There was only four of us staying in the villa but if there were 8 of you I imagine the two on the sofa bed would be really disappointed.
I did complain whilst we were there to the owner about the smell and damp and they just tried to fob us off and then ignored us!
