Room was really good and it was really value for money. Good location, easily accessible from main city of Trissur. Housekeeping staff were good and polite. Excellent room service. Security staff were good. Front office staff unfortunately, was not coping up with basic tasks in dealing with guests. There is obviously a lack of basic training as I observed. They we found as willing workers and well manured, but were not conversant with basic courtesies like guiding the guests thru the available staff, helping the guests by organising the available staff in settling the guests, shifting luggages during checking-in and checking-out etc as being done in all Indian Hotels. I instructed that a consolidate bill be handed over to me at the time of checking-out & payment made, but the room bill was not handed over even after asking for. Only food bill was given. A bit of training will do a lot good for the already fine organisation like Mothi Mahal.
Room service dinner was of good quality and was tasty, but the quantity was too much for any normal man to consume, resulting in colossal wastage of resources. I suggest that the food quantity of each portion be reduced to half and to cut down the coast accordingly. Thereby you can minimise wastage of food as well as reduce the expenditure/cost for food at both ends.
Please take the above remarks as points to improve as I am your well wisher. These are in no way derogatory. So, do take them in right spirit. We shall come again to Trissur and stay with you at the earliest opportunity.
