I was a little bit disappointed to find out on our arrival there is no electricity in property (and all area) and this will be resolved within couple of hours. It was not a big deal as these things can happen... after resting in a dark room for couple of hours i was expecting issue to be resolved especially that all properties around had lights on... unfortunately this was not the case for Newton House.... there was no communication from the owner, even though he contacted me previously to arrange checki in time, no apologies or offer of any alternative lights in the room. I have noticed some electric candles in a public area... nothing offered for the room. Our only source of light was torch that my boyfriend kept in his car. We had no way of charging phones, use of tv, hairdryer before heading out. A part from inconvenience it was also dangerous to stay in a dark room throughout the stay. To top it off we were woken up to the sound of I believe fire alarm going of presumably due to lack of power.
Knowing that there will be no power in property throughout our stay I would cancelled my stay and book other place where I get value for money. I believe that it's poor service if you charge customer for room, have a major issue with power, not apologies nor update or even partially refund offered for inconvenience.
