False advertising and rude staff that are way too used to getting away with this! Make sure you read the reviews (even the mainly positive ones) carefully as many of them have pointers to their malicious practices!
They lure you far out to their property by advertising all these great activities, and only after a 2.5h drive you find out that most of the activities are not being offered with various different excuses (the boat skipper is only available on Mondays; the weather does not allow us to go out on the water; the tea farm is closed during the holidays; we only have one guide available and other guests have asked for tour x) every staff has their own convenient excuse to offer with a little smirk on their faces. Now as you can see from other reviews, this is something they do routinely and then they offer you a small refund or a bottle of wine since they know that youre not going to leave after a tiring multi hour drive.
We were really excited this stay, as the high rating and advertising made it look great. Worst part is that they were trying to blame us for misunderstanding how they schedule the activities and not communicating our wishes properly. We were very clear with the activities we were looking to do and communicated this upfront to the reservations office, unfortunately it turns out that the reservations office, based in Johannesburg, doesnt actually know whats going on at the property and vice versa. Really not an experience you expect at this price point.Theres plenty of better places closer to Cape Town where you will have a better time at this price point!
