A lovely place to stay and I hope to return!
The proprietor Noorani was so kind, welcoming, and helpful. She is also an amazing cook! So lovely to be right in the heart of Dorchester. I really appreciated Nooranis knowledge of the history of the town and region, which is fascinating.

A beautiful and comfortable stay in Dorchester!
I really enjoyed my stay at Casterbridge. It is in a great location, walking distance to all the shops and restaurants on the high street. Friendly host who told me about the local area and history of the B&B. Room was very traditional but clean and comfortable. Lovely bath, tea and coffee, view over the highstreet, very comfortable bed and TV with Netflix. I would definitely consider staying here again if I am in the area, and would recommend to others. Thank you so much!
There were builders onsite in the hallways painting/decorating when I visited (although they were considerate and helpful). I had to ask for certain breakfast items several times, but when it came it was all delicious and wonderful!

Friendly staff and clean, comfortable room with all one could possibly need. We only stayed one night but would happily book a longer stay in the future.
    We liked everything!

    A bit underwhelming
Decent price for central Dorchester and appreciated the parking spaces, albeit they were a short walk away and not guaranteed Very clean
Its a B&B right in the centre of town in a very old building, so you expect quirks etc but the secondary glazing was jammed open in my room facing the main road and the original sash didn't shut completely, so you can imagine the noise when the council roadworks started outside. I understand the hotel can't just shut down because there are roadworks, but I think when you know that it is happening each night, overnight, for a whole week, a notice to warn potential bookers would be appropriate. Bed was saggy on one side which meant I woke up a bit stiff Self check in was a key hanging on a hook, behind a front door open to the world, which seems a bit weird. I guess worst case scenario if someone had taken it, I would have had to find someone to help, but I have no idea if anyone was around, as saw no-one.

A genuine pleasure to have stayed here
First class facility, properly run, quality offer and fairly priced. Breakfast excellent, Mme in charge knows what shes doing! Highly recommended!
Bathroom door handle difficult to open. Tough for old fogies!

Brilliantly run B&B, comfortable rooms, and you can expect a friendly welcome
Great location, wonderful property. The room was very comfortable with a large double bed, two comfortable armchairs and a spacious ensuite. the owner and her staff cooked a delicious breakfast each morning with locally sourced produce. if you didn't want to eat out in the evening and just pick up a takeaway, you can just eat it in the dining room where breakfast is served which is a great option to have. It was very easy to check in and out and we would definitely stay here again. One of the best B&Bs I've ever stayed in !

    Disappointing
Not a hotel and I wouldn't have booked it if I'd known there was no parking on site.
I would describe the Casterbridge as a B&B rather than a hotel. There is no parking at the property. There are three available spaces a couple of streets away, otherwise public car parks have to be used. Phone calls were not returned and communication was by text message. On arrival you collect your room key from inside the front door, there was no personal welcome. The room was clean but cramped. The bathroom was tiny.
