What a beautiful place with such breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere. It was nice to take a little break from the city to relax in wine country. Check-in was stress-free; I communicated with Helene regarding the approximate arrival time. My family and I ubered to the cabin with no issues whatsoever. We had no plans to rent a car; we wanted to relax and walk to a few neighboring wineries, and everything was okay. We walked to J Cle Roux and Louisvale wineries and ubered to others.
Check-in was smooth. The cabin was beautiful, and the two bedrooms were adequate for our two-night stay. The bathroom was clean, and the shower was excellent with hot water. The living room/kitchen area had all the necessary amenities ( fridge, washer, and dryer ), a nice sitting area on the kitchen island, books to read, and a list of numbers to call for needs or emergencies. The back door in the living room gave way to a lovely backyard, perfect for morning coffee and relaxing in the evening while enjoying the views. There was a separate common lobby/lounge. It was cozy, with a fireplace, bar, and different wines and spirits. There was an honesty jar for drinks consumed, with whatever amount you thought was appropriate to give. Next to the lounge was an outdoor deck with a breakfast/ meal area. There was a heater that could be utilized at night if needed. A pool and a hot tub were available, but we did not get a chance to use either. We will have to come back. A load-shedding schedule was posted in the lounge, which was very helpful for planning.
Breakfast was fantastic and the best I have had in a B & B. Excellent selection: coffee, tea, orange juice, yogurt with fruit, and three meal options. Compliments to the chef. Our host, Frank, was excellent! He made sure all our needs were addressed. He also prepared a Braai for us on Thanksgiving day, which was delicious and greatly appreciated. Frank was professional, witty, and such a kind soul.
