    This property is an 18 minute walk from the beach. Situated less than 10 minutes' walk from Oban's famous McCaig's Tower, The Ranald Hotel is set in the heart of Oban town centre and just off the mai (Read More)n esplanade. Free Wi-Fi, an en-suite shower room and a 43 inch Smart TV are featured in each room at The Ranald, as well as our tea and coffee making facilities. Freshly brewed coffee, warm Scottish pancakes, Our Ranald Bloomer with Avocado, Bacon and Egg, are served at breakfast, as well as many other favourites. Scenic wildlife cruises can be taken from opposite the Oban War & Peace Museum, which is a 5-minute drive away. Diving, fishing and kayaking can also be enjoyed in the local area, and Dunollie House and Castle are just 1.3 miles away. This is our guests' favourite part of Oban, according to independent reviews. Couples particularly like the location — they rated it 8.8 for a two-person trip.     Very nice stay in Oban, quiet and very comfortable room.
    Quite spacious and comfortable room with modern furnitures, very kind staff. Good location with car parks around and everything around within a short walk.

    The hotel was fantastic breakfast was fantastic enjoyed my pancakes and bacon and the avocado on toast staff were so happy and helpful nothing was too much trouble would recommend it in a heartbeat the locals of the town were helpful and friendly too Oban is a fantastic place to be

    The room was clean
    The breakfast that morning was absolutely appalling, both staff that were on that shift were both very rude. Twice we had to ask for service but they were both too busy in the back talking away. Clearly ignored us till suited them. There was also another family sat in the room and experienced the same service. The food was VERY VERY overpriced for what we had. 10 for one slice of avocado on toast!? And the avocado was off! I dont actually think any of us managed to even eat our food, resulting in having to take our kids else where for breakfast.

    Not good for families with little kids.
    The receptionist, the cook and the barmaid were all the same person. She is the only one person I like about this property.
    The window was not working properly. It was not closing well. With a little push it could be open. Plus, my sons bed was in front of that window. In addition, you need to keep the bathroom door close in order not the fire alarm keep running. The breakfast was very simple. Also, there was no elevator.

    Excellent modern hotel
    This is the best hotel I have stayed in, in Oban. It was modern, clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful. I liked the breakfast very much - french toast with maple syrup. The location was ideal for me - about five minutes walk from the railway station (and ferry terminal), and also five minutes from the Tesco supermarket, and near the main street of the town.
    Being really picky I didn't like the croissants!

    Staff were very attentive and helpful. Room was lovely and clean with great shower. French toast and pancakes were delicious. Great central location
    TV wifi didn't work, some more savoury vegetarian options at breakfast would have been nice
