Great Accomodation all round, couldnt fault it, will look to stay again next year

Fab location overlooking sea at the rear, wonderful newly installed decking to admire the view Convenient for walk into town or down to the beach Breakfast was top drawer and the staff were very welcoming, especially the receptionist who doubles as a waitress.

Warm and welcoming staff. Our room was fantastic, the bath was great with its sea views. balcony with a great view, recommend Wellington. Breakfast well worth the extra'

Disappointing

Let us start with the positives - and there are quite a few! The view, out of the extremely spacious balconies is breath-taking, even on a grey December day. The hotel is a really good value for money too, given it's facade and room size. The breakfast is rather decent too, if you don't compare Ventnor to Nuremburg or London, and if you don't mind being assigned a 30 minutes breakfast wake up slot between 8 and 9am on arrival by reception. The hotel obviously took previous comments about internet speed seriously and improved it - we could get 300mbps which is really descent anywhere in the hotel. That is where the positives ended for us.... .

Our room, a family room, had a rather uncomfortable angle - you lay a bottle on the floor at the balcony, and it will roll instantly to the other end of the long room - this made standing, sitting, laying or simply balancing on 2 feet extremely uncomfortable anywhere in the room - like the hotel's side is slowly sinking into the glorious chalk hills of the south coast. This felt unsafe and uncomfortable - sleeping felt like a chore. The ferry that took us there in choppy December waters felt like a much more comfortable place to lay your head down. The balance issue continues when you're in the corridors and going up and down the many stairs that you'd expect in a Victorian villa. The style/interior design of the hotel feels strange. The bar is like a man cave, the breakfast room feels like it's been decorated by someone's mother, the public toilet is like a facebook project, super modern with green and gold wallpaper, felt like a mix and match of different family members' styles and tastes (rectangular modern mirrors vs 90s plexiglass posters vs faux Victorian features). Parking is non-existent, but that is not necessarily the hotel's fault, as the whole island is notorious for this. In our view, you can substitute the owners' van(s) for a dedicated unloading/drop off bay, so people don't have to drag suitcases up and down the hill - most, not needing a cardio session. Because of what we think are failing foundations and a sinking hotel, bathroom left a lot to be desired too - cracked and wobbly floor tiles, chipped fixtures and a lot of limescale. Again, we appreciate that this is a family venture, but money exchange hands, which in turn makes it a business transaction. Would we visit again? Hopefully, in a room with level floors as all of us love the island

Eggs Benedict undercooked Room on veiw lovely

Clutter and store cupboard alway open in the reception area. Bed and mattress left in hall thatwas exposed to guests.

Couldn't fault the Hotel, the Staff or Ventnor itself, the sea view is just amazing, Everything was totally amazing at this hotel, I would most definitely recommend the Wellington hotel in ventnor, I didn't want to leave to go home

I loved sitting on the balcony watching the sea and stars.

The balconies are a really good size, you can sit on them even if it raining and watch the sea. There are also lots of stars to see as the light pollution is low, The room is lovely and Ventnor is a lovely and unique place
