Highly recommened the individuality of the breakfast. Its a unique experience.
It was a buffet style breakfast (hot plates/trays, etc) that you couldnt serve yourself from. Kind of like silver service, but from a distance.
A magical mystery tour of what you might get to eat.
The hot plates were in a fenced off area and a member of staff asked what you would like to select whilst you stood in a different postcode.
I exaggerate, but you are about 15 yards away from the food so you could not see it.
Now sausage and bacon is sausage and bacon, now label me fussy but how/whether its cooked is of some importance (for me).
I ended up with a plate of variously cooked items i didnt want.
The beans were fine, the hash browns had been cooked so long that they were just a kind of batter (which made a clinky sound on the plate), the bacon was floppy, and the sausages had barely seen the pan.
The toast came with a twist, it was warm bread.
Now the point isnt really the cooking of the food as they may have been perfect for someone else (and thats fine, if not a little weird), but for me they werent sufficiently cooked.
If you could see the food you were selecting, you would have just passed over the limp bacon and the anaemic sauages and not wasted food.
It begs the question (which i still ponder some nights) as to what the point is in having it buffet style if you cant serve yourself.
Just take an order for breakfast. Cut out the middleman (hot plate). Job done, no waste.
Strangest hotel breakfast set up ive ever seen for a while. Tick it off your bucket list and give it a whirl. Maybe just once.
