We have stayed in dozens of rentals and never written a bad review. Here, we feel compelled to do so, for the reason below:
Soon after arrival we noticed an unpleasant smell in the kitchen, which we later identified to be from the microwave in which something had clearly been burnt (there was a dark coloration on the inside back-corner). This did not bother us that much, as we did not need to use the microwave and it could be closed inside a kitchen cupboard. Upon restitution of the keys, we kindly informed the rental agency (Bruchez & Gaillard) of this issue (and the few others above) out of consideration for the next guests. Shockingly, we found through a set of subsequent phone calls/emails that they decided that we were lying - they claimed the microwave had just been replaced - and that we were responsible for the damage. A few days later, they simply charged us for the microwave. While the cost of the microwave is small compared to the hefty one-week rental, this left us with a sour taste.
