once I got past the noise issues, I relaxed and wished I could stay longer. excellent hospitality and authentic Mauritia

the view, pool and home cooked Mauritian food were outstanding!!

The stunning banyan tree unfortunately acts as a giant nest for pigeons, who, despite some efforts from the gardener to scare the birds away with flags and bird spikes, make very loud noise at night landing on the metal corrugated roof. This kept me awake for two nights until I moved into the middle bedroom (which has a solid roof and shutters to help reduce the noise). As is typical for MRU, there are stray dogs on the beach, who barked a lot each night and a local cockerel started at 2amnot what I needed after 20hr flights with no sleep to get to the villaI realise these are out of the owners control but buyers beware!! There was also an issue with the AC in the one bedroom I could sleep in and this was fixed on the second day.
