South Italy, where Naples is located, sits in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea and hence, the weather can be quite warm the whole year round, except for the winter months. Summer can be harsh, so it is not advisable to travel to Naples during July and August. Another reason to avoid travel during August is that most Italians are on vacation.
