Great experience in people, culture and SPA
The resort located at the center of everything. The hotel people are all very helpful. Especially due to my injuries, Siri and her manager go extra miles helped me went to hospital, translated. They also go extra miles sent ice to my room make sure I have ice for my injuried leg. There are also other people helped me push wheelchair and so friendly. I think it is the best hotel I stayed .
The nice staffs. Beautiful interior, good service . Great SPA.

Room was fantastic - we had adjoining room with kids and it was perfect.
Location is a bit of a journey but different vibe being up in the hills was nice.
Breakfast was great. General/poolside food was ok - stick with the pizza!

Beutiful hotel away from the noisy center
We love staying at the Alaya resort, the staff is very nice and welcoming as all the people in Bali. They make events during the night, we enjoyed the Balinese tradicional dance dinner and the food in general.
I loved the mango tartare:)
The pool area is very beautiful with a view to the rice fields.
A coulple of things to improve, the AC are a maybe old and made a bit of noise during the night, they could also change the protection of the pool beds, they look old and dirty. Other than that the place is peaceful and away from the noisy city center.

Location, cleanliness and staff
We had buffet breakfast booked and stuff up by bookings.com and I showed it staff that it is impossible to book without buffet breakfast but no one was accomodating at all. Will never book again with booking.com and will advise everyone not too either as no one wants to take responsibility that they made an error and best of all doesnt want to fix it either.

A lovely resort right in the middle of Ubud making it easy to go out for meals, entertainment, shopping... The rooms were well fitted out and had high quality toiletries. We stayed in a room on the third floor which had a great view overlooking the pool and gardens. Breakfast was a buffet style with optional orders (eggs etc). Being set back from the road there was no noise as I have experienced in other central Ubud hotels. Our booking included a Balinese massage in the spa which was a nice experience (though you can get the same massage for a fraction of the price out in town). The staff were always friendly and exceptionally helpful.

For a five star hotel the rooms were fairly small. The odd design of the bathroom and toilet being within the main room would not suit some (you have to be very comfortable with the people you are sharing a room with!) One thing that could definitely be improved for accessibility is installing a lift as there wasn't one in our wing. My mother has hip problems and found the stairs a challenge. The pool is pleasant, but not as big as it looks in the pictures.
