    Overall a good place to stay for a gathering over Christmas but not quite as good as the year before
    Overall accommodation was good and similar to last year when we stayed there.
    I rang three times before the stay asking for a menu but never received it. Our party was slightly smaller (14 instead of 9) this year and on the last call I was told I would be sent something and a copy of the wine list but never got it. As it was a table of 9 it wasn't necessary to book and we may have some specials on that evening. The food choices were a little bit limiting but the quality was good. The breakfast was good quality with good locally sourced products but the Full English Breakfast has become a buffet which is a backward step.

    Poor spa and spa staff (cold jacuzzi and sauna) , unhelpful staff. Inconvenient accommodation away from the main hotel. Too busy due to a wedding taking place during our stay. We will not return

    Comfortable rooms and clean
    Better fruits and choice of healthy breads at breakfast needed as I don't eat cooked breakfast. Needs a games room eg pool/table tennis to assist a family break

    We stayed for two nights bed and breakfast. First time in York.
    It was very clean and quiet. I like that you could connect your phone to the TV so you can stream and not be stuck with basic TV. Everything you need in the room. I personally like the aesthetic of the hotel but it was like someone had chosen all the tacky statues at homesense to decorate the place.
    It was over priced a solid 3.5 star hotel not a 5. You had to serve your own full English which was kept warm, very dried out. Not good for the price of the hotel. We felt everything was very expensive considering the location. London / Cornwall prices. 14 for a basic cosmopolitan is very steep. No water pressure in the shower took ages to feel wet and wash hair. The staff were a bit odd, a combination of overly attentive and never around when you need them. The room could have done with a mini bar or fridge.
