    Our room was on the 2nd floor near the stairs and it was a bit noisy. Also some rooms are separated by thin partitions and sometimes we could hear our neighbors

    Step back into history!
    A delightful 15th century villa with a mesmerising garden and friendly staff. The receptionist gentleman, Mario, welcomed us in a warm manner and showed us around the premises. There was a shuttle to and from the city anytime we needed it which was very convenient. The breakfast was superb and the lady in the serving salon was so lovely. I wouldnt look for any other hotel next time in Florence.

    I dont normally research places to stay so much before going there. It really paid off this time, making favourite lists for each area and trying to work out how to get there. Carrying a heavy suitcase over antique stone streets and footpaths is not fun at all. So I was pleased with @villaagapefirenze wow its like the magnificent houses Nick @italianproperty fawns over. Those magnificent tiles, so many patterns. The joinery with arches. Just exquisite. The breakfast is out of this world. I dont know if Ive ever seen anything like it. They make freshly squeezed juices. There is a huge selection of cake, bread, preserves meat, eggs, gluten free bread, muesli, cereals, teas, coffee. The wholemeal bread tastes home made. Ive never eaten ricotta that fresh and soft. They really go out of their way to provide the best food including olive oil produced by olives grown on the property. Beautiful comfortable bed with crisp white sheets. When I woke up I went to the terrace overlooking the garden and it took my breath away. The olive grove and other ancient trees and garden features - ponds, wells and old olive oil urns. What can I say? The whole villa is insanely beautiful with wooden ceilings and various patterned ancient terracotta tiles. The arches, the rooms, stone steps, stair, old wooden doors with arches, a stunningly gorgeous place.

    I had difficult getting there but thats mainly because I dont have a SIM so couldnt use Google Maps. There is a shuttle bus but youve got to get to 2 points past the river where they can pick you up from. Theyre not allowed to go inside the inner city zone but taxis can. I paid 16.50 for a taxi from the Porta San Miniano to the train station.

    Best location - parking for free, very nice breakfast, shuttle for free into town- this was actually amazing With this hotel you will enjoy a really nice time in Florence. We would come back for a 1-2 night-stay.
    The hotel is old and with this nice old charm some experiences come with it: 1) the fan in the room was very loud so that we had to turn it off during the night 2) When other guest are in the front or pasing by the room you can hear everything

    The staff went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional...particularly Mario. The location was beautiful, the breakfast range was huge....fresh fruits, vegetables, cheese, breads, cakes croissants etc, and when we dined in the restaurant the meals were perfect, and generous. The room was pretty, with a lovely view, and very comfortable. We didn't need to use the free shuttle service at all, as we enjoyed the short walk into town. The hotel is definitely close enough to the city centre for us to walk in easily, but far enough away to feel like you are in peaceful Tuscany countryside. Lovely sitting areas outside, a nice bar and restaurant inside, and a friendly welcoming atmosphere.
