    Wonderful house with delightful hosts.
    Wonderful stay in Black Rock House. Vincent and Clovis (their beautiful St Bernard) are excellent hosts; helping us find a place for a meal, giving us a lift there, providing an excellent breakfast and we thoroughly enjoyed chatting with Vincent. Top quality rooms too. A really delightful place to stay.

    Black Rock an fantastic place to stay-near everything in Hastings yet in a quiet and peaceful road. The house is fabulous and decorated with style-it feels like a home with a designers touch. Rooms have all the amenities you would expect and are very comfortable.

    Excellent.
    Beautiful house. Breakfast was continental , scrambled egg an amazing addition restaurant quality. Vincent was the perfect host, very informative on places to eat and visit. Highly recommend.
    Even though the House was only a 10 minute walk from town its very steep if you have mobility issues. Vincent gave us a number for the local taxi which was 5 which we used to get back which worked really well.

    We were made very welcome by our hosts. We loved sharing their home.
    Plenty of choice of high quality foods; set us up for the day. A peaceful road; maybe the hilly location wouldn't suit some people. Ample parking space.
    We had to leave too soon.

    Our visit to Hasting was made more special by staying at Black Rock. Vincent went far above any expectations. The inn itself is beautiful & comfortable. The amenities are beyond special: robes, toiletries, view, in-room refrigerator, personalized recommendations & directions. Breakfast is incomparable. The food and the setting belie any simple description! We can not say enough about what a difference sharing Vincents and Juliens home made to our stay in Hastings. Dont miss this gem. But do take a taxi if you arrive by train. Its not far but the stairs & hills are daunting!
