Great location but disappointing room and stay

We arrived late due to a delayed train which was communicated with staff. When we arrived shutters were closed and staff member asleep. Eventually when we go to the room it was very unclean, brown towels and dirty bathroom. Staff did give us a free upgrade however this room was not too dissimilar and the shower was broken. It was also very uncomfortable, loud and cold.
