I stayed at this hotel as I had travelled to Yorkshire for a funeral and when i returned home I realised more than 100 extra (more than the actual cost of my stay) had been taken from my account. Not only did they double charge me for parking, but they also took numerous pre-authorisation payments for everything (hotel room, parking, breakfasts and i can't remember what else) and did not then cancel them when I paid the following morning. After nearly a week of making numerous calls, where little action was taken (apart from refunding me the overpayment for parking), they started releasing these pre-authorisations, but only after i got passed from pillar to post among their finance team with one person even denying it had happened. I told them that I could clearly see in had my banking app. I know the money gets held and your bank releases it eventually if the business does not draw on a pre-authorisation payment but it takes 31 days and having 100 taken out just before Christmas seemed a little much and a totally unreasonable way to treat someone as, for quite a period of time, I would have had a great deal of money taken off my bank balance. The hotel eventually contacted me to say they had released them all, but that is still not the case. There is still one holding payment of 23 (many weeks later) that they have not released. However, I have given up with them and will just wait until the funds aren't released to the company on the 31st day and placed back in my account. It was a nice hotel but I will never stay there or in the company's other hotels again.
