The reception area was stunning and the staff very helpful.

On looking for a plug socket for charging our phone there was a lot of dust, a big cobweb on the wall going from one picture to another. The bottom sheet on the bed was tucked under the mattress but came loose to reveal it was all ripped along the edging. We understand the furniture in the room is in line with the room looking old ,but didn't expect chunks of wood missing in the four poster bed on the base ,the bed has obviously been damaged in the past and also the dressing table had a Sharp bit of wood that looked like it had been broken off . There was some sort of plug socket in the floor,the carpet had been cut around the socket leaving the carpet all fayed looking tacky. Unfortunately the room was not quite the standard we expected.

The location and building are wonderful. The staff are always very welcoming and helpful.

The breakfast, pre covid was always absolutely excellent. The choices of fruits pastries, youghts, nut etc and the cooked breakfasts were the best we have had anywhere, but unfortunately the continental parts are now quite restricted and far less impressive which is a real shame. Also, as l am extremely arthritic the last 2/3 visits l have found that the shower in the baths are extremely difficult to use as the bath sides are so high, although after discussing this with the receptionist l will be able to phone and discuss my options before l book.

The history, buildings and grounds . The staff were excellent as was the breakfast.

Having booked into a luxury double room we found ourselves in a family room that was just large . The temperature control fell off on first touch and the shower remained stone cold.

The bath was the best! As well as the grand rpoms very over the top very worth the upgrade

The room wasnt as clean as expected there was an old clothes tag on the floor in the room and an old toilet roll cardboard on the floor in the bathroom
