The night manager. Since my work schedule was fluid and would change each day I was required to check out each morning and book a series of daily extensions. I booked each days upcoming stay on booking.com. When you book a stay you are told that you may book online or upon check in. I would also choose upon check in. The hotel had my credit card on file and unbeknownst to me they secured a pre authorization for my evenings stay prior to my arrival. The money in my account was frozen despite the fact I clearly stipulated that I would pay upon arrival. At this point upon arrival later that evening I was required to present my credit card despite the fact they had already frozen my rental amount earlier that day.so now they were holding 2x payments before I set foot in my room. The manager than told me there would be a 50.00 incidental deposit fee despite the fact that they were now holding 2x my rental feethen it got weird. I was told that the deposit must be paid by card and not cash. I had 47.00 in my debit account and offered to pay the 3.00 in cash immediately at that moment. The clerk refused to accept cash. From my perspective surely he would understand that at 10:39 pm in the evening I was unable to get the matter handled by a local bank.. and since I had been an excellent patron for the last several days I would assume that he would offer some solution. He did. He refused to assist me and asked me to leave the hotel. I was shocked. I had just spent 5 to 7 days in the hotel. I would respectfully suggest that I was an excellent guest yet this man was suggesting that despite his holding two nights payment on my debit card plus my giving 47.00 on the card as a deposit . he might have accepted the 46.00 remaining on my card and suggested that I take care of the matter the next morning when I would have access to my local bank. No.. he asked me to leave the hotel. He actually tossed me out of the hotel over a 3.00 shortage on my card.
