Emporio Cancun

Amazing location, the beach was amazingly clean, with great facilities. including a bar on the beach. I like the way the rooms look out to sea and across the pools. The room was lovely, big, and clean. Great service on arrival to the room we were supplied with travel shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, body cream, razor, shaving foam, toothbrush, soap, and shower caps. we had a coffee machine and an ironing board, we were also supplied with bottled water daily. 4 pools to choose from. one swim-up room pool, swim-up bar pool. dip pool and sports pool. 2 jacuzzis one of which was on the side of the swim-up bar. 4 restaurants 2 of which were buffet serves and 2 were table serves. a games bar is only open at night. a Gym which I didn't go in to be fair. very good for the price we paid.

NO tea-making facility in the room, only a coffee machine, the drain to the shower was blocked and I had to wait 3 days for the drain to the shower to be unblocked. On the 3rd day, I had to go to reception with shampoo in my hair and complain heavily. Then waited a further hour for someone to clean the drain so I could shower and go out. They don't care if you have anything planned it's tuff you have to wait for the staff to help when they are ready. The Restaurants are nice. although two of them you had to book in the morning by an app. We never managed to get a successful booking always booked up. The other 2 were buffet service. 1 larger restaurant catered for a lot of needs. Unfortunately, the staff were not helpful with service in this larger restaurant, it was a struggle to get the staff to fill up the bread, and pour you tea. on one occasion I asked 3 members of staff for bread, as I wanted a slice of toast I waited over 30 minutes by the toaster. Trying to get served tea was a nightmare, you ask for tea the staff then wander off and do something else sometimes they don't come back or you could often wait up to 10 to 15 minutes. they then give you a tea bag and off they go again, then come back with water after a long wait, then disappear, and you wait for milk. This was so frustrating. One day, I had actuly finished eating my breakfast when they came with the tea bag. which I had asked for when I walked in. The evening was the same with drinks. we managed to get 1 drink during our meal and again we were served when we had nearly finished our meal. The staff looked through you or blankly at you. I didn't find the receptionist friendly. we stood checking in for 20 minutes she just tapped away on her keyboard no communication no smile no welcome to our hotel it was like a chore to be honest that she was serving us. found it rude. I felt most of the staff couldn't be bothered with you.
