Sadly, this is not the Fontainebleau that we all grew up loving and enjoying. I have come to this hotel countless times since the mid 1990s. However, after the events of the most recent stay, we will not be coming back. Many things occurred but most importantly is that no longer is there any care or attention to detail for the customer. We had a late flight to Europe on our day of departure. I contacted the front desk and we paid a half day fare to have the room till 4PM. This is what we wanted since our plan was to rest and sleep all day to prepare for the evening travel. We had a do not disturb sign on the door. Despite the sign and despite calling the front desk multiple times reminding them that we paid for a late half day check out, people still came and knocked on our door to clean the room and kick us out of the room 4 times. I called the front desk staff and asked them to please speak to housekeeping. The female attendant in the front desk office could not be bothered to help. Her response when I informed her of the awful service and inattention to detail was "well you already got the half rate and that is very cheap!" Can you imagine! The gaul! The audacity. No longer does the FB care about the customer experience. This was a horrible way to be treated and we will not be back. Also, we ordered room service breakfast and received cold coffee and a hashbrown that could have been used as a weapon. There is a 20 % mandatory tip ALREADY added (which is expected in South Florida) but when we chose not to add anything additional, the attendant muttered something under his breath about us. There is a significant lack of training at the resort and the customer is no longer their priority. We will not be coming back.
