    Located in an old tea factory, this hotel is something special for people who enjoy tradition. The outside facade of the old tea factory was kept, while the inside keeps many momentos, machinery and the old elevators. A special experience! Dinner and breakfast buffet were both excellent as well.

    Dec 2023 What an amazing experience. This hotel is a feast for all the senses. I especially have to mention Jayanthi who did our tea tasting and mini tea factory tour. She was such a wealth of information. Shamnu the chef was amazing. He arranged a veritable feast of vegan food for us, including vegan desserts, and vegan masala tea. Kesawan, our server was also extremely attentive and helpful. Definitely worth a visit. This is such a well-maintained and special hotel.

    Far from the main city so if need to visit other places so need to calculate the extra travel time but worth going there for the location and surrounding.

    Would have been a 10 if not for the terrible road.
    If you want a full Sri Lankan tea experience this is a must, in middle of tea plantations in an old colonial tea factory. Perfect experience.
    Would have given you a 10 if it wasnt for the road getting to the hotel, pretty stressful experience as no room for cars to pass, we met a bus and was forced to back up over mud, you need to sort this road or people might be reluctant to visit.

    A taste of tea history.
    The look and feel of the hotel were like nothing weve seen before. It was a little piece of history! Very charming. The staff weee exceptional, in particular the F&B staff (Norbert), the spa ladies and the lady who did the tea tasting and picking experience. The food was very good, great selection and reasonably priced. I would recommend a la carte over the buffet - we tried both. We like the sustainable Christmas decorations too!
    The bedrooms are nice but the bathrooms are a little tired. They could do with a refresh, especially given the price and rating of the hotel. It was a challenge to book excursions in advance of arriving to the hotel. Booking in at the spa also cause a lot of confusion! Could do with a few more activities as the hotel is very remote. For us, 1 night would have perhaps been better suited.

    We stayed here for our honeymoon/ birthday treat. The hotel is an experience for itself. Tea plucking and tasting as a must, nature walk also a must! breakfast was fab lots of choices, evening buffet was great! (i think its cheaper to do half board than bed and breakfast - you cant eat anywhere else as its at the top of a hill so choose half board) we had high tea which was lovely! They even brought out birthday cake for me!
    music in the bar would be great!

    Very unique hotel. Cool experience, but expensive and has mediocre food.
    - Absolutely stunning location, venue and surroundings - Amazing tea - Beautiful interior, although the bathrooms can do with a refreshment - Very friendly staff
    - Staff forgot our welcome drink - Got a high tea but had to wait an extra 25 minutes before the tea arrived after serving the food - Food is very mediocre. For us it was the worst food of the trip (dinner) while they charge the highest prices - Uncomfortable thin pocketspring beds - Only 1 bottle of water in the room, all other hotels did 2. In addition, when we asked to fill up our bottles the next day they wanted money for this water...
