Clean, good location but staff attitude & service overall lacking

The hotel was clean and in a good location - able to get to multiple areas around Houston within pretty short drive

The staff looked uninterested in their jobs or their guests. We requested a rollaway bed the first day, and the feeling that we got was that they were uninterested in help, didn't really communicate why we didn't get one. The second day we requested again and got someone to explain to that our room was too small and a rollaway bed would have been a fire hazard, which was fair enough, but something that could have been communicated the first day. The room was clean but bare - just enough to stay in, didn't have enough towels and didn't have toiletries. Overall vibe we got was the hotel was for staying but only that - not for comfort or service or otherwise.
