    The JW Marriott Grand Rapids has a great downtown location with beautiful views of the Grand River. Guests enjoyed the spacious, clean, and comfortable rooms, as well as the amenities such as the poo (Read More)l, sauna, and gym overlooking the river. The hotel staff were generally welcoming and courteous, although one staff member was described as condescending. There were also positive remarks about the nearby attractions and the overall safety of the area. Some minor criticisms included the desire for softer beds and fatter pillows.

    Breakfast was great! the omelette was the best I ever had... the Chef or the gentleman took a lot of pride in making it an experience, not just an omelette.

    Some amazing people Manger was not staff wonderful
    I had trouble checking in, The young man kept running my Dedit card until it locked, I had already been there a couple days before checking on my reservation, all was good, Until I checked in. I asked to speak with a manager she gave me such a hard time the only thing she kept saying was my card did not go threw I was trying to inform her the only reason it didn't go threw because the guy who checked me in ran my credit card multiple times, I had to call my bank to have have my card unlocked, which they Did it was my daughter's Birthday it was suppose to be a special occasion, we never had been there before,

    However It was a Beautiful young sweet lady I forget her name.who was very polite and she took care of me and my daughter I appreciate her so much I called her my angel she had the perfect attitude and she was concerned about the situation and she showed a lot of compassion which I appreciate her for that, I will give her A 10 And beyond for helping with the situation, That Manger seems to me to be a bit prejudice against black people she was horrible

    Great views and good breakfast, but not the best value overall.
    The views were excellent from the 22nd floor and we loved getting to see the city.
    The cost was double what it was a few years ago when we stayed there last but nothing had changed or been upgraded in the rooms. The hairdryer was old and barely worked. The makeup mirror light didnt work. The toiletries were in large bottles with stickers sealed to make it clear they couldnt be removed. The breakfast brunch we prepaid for was really good but also a lot less selection than last time and didnt include any beverages at all. We ordered 1 coffee, 1 cappuccino & 1 orange juice and had to pay $22 for that on top of the $50 for the buffet when it used to include a drink.

    The pool was cold. For such a beautiful location it should have been warm.

    The room didn't match the price
    The location and the lobby were beautiful.
    The rooms are clearly less updated than the lobby. The TV and internet lagged to the point that we gave up trying to relax and watch it... The view was nice but the room itself felt lower quality than the price we paid. I love Jw properties, but I won't be back to this one.
