    Cute little property just outside of staveley, the hosts were lovely and welcoming and the rooms were ample size since we were essentially only there to sleep The breakfast was stunning 10/10 would stay again!

    The whole experience, weve stayed there in the past but always find it well booked up for another stay. This time we were in luck. Weve been to many guest houses in Ambleside and Windermere and this is by far the most outstanding.

    Great stay but some points to note for any future visit
    Many things were outstanding, Our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was first rate. But perhaps the most impressive thing was that our needs had been well thought out. For example, a place to warm food with cutlery provided, and plenty of tea, coffee and milk.
    Car parking very difficult. Lighting in the parking area was poor and other vehicles were difficult to see. There was a black Landrover partially blocking the entrance and in the dark and rain it was difficult to get past it. There was also a small red car near the property that made backing into a parking space impossible even with sensors on my car. A second point relates to noise from the room above us. We were woken by movement from above. If we were to visit Meadowcroft again we would request a room on a higher level to avoid this.

    Near perfection, but need a contact number for hosts in the event of a problem.
    I love pretty much everything about this place, the rooms are fab, immaculately clean and very comfy beds, great location, and having a residents lounge with a microwave and fridge so you can cook a shop brought ready meal if you are on business and don't feel like going out, or are on a budget is a real bonus and very thoughtful!
    Nothing really, but on my last visit, really missed having a friendly host there on arrival, especially after a very long journey, as on previous visits they were always there and great to have that friendly chat on arrival. But the positives put this into perspective and Debbie even rang me to explain why it is now self check in, which I totally get., and to take the trouble to do this just just shows what great hosts they are, My only other bug bear is that I need a mirror close to a plug so I can do my hair, but all mirrors are removeable so not been a problem, and they have always been very accommodating.
