    We really enjoyed our short stay and would definitely return for another visit.
    We thought that the standard of the rooms and hotel in general were very good and enjoyed using the pool and other facilities. We did make use of the spa which met all our expectations.
    The only small points were the lack of gluten free sausages at breakfast. During the night you could hear anyone walking down the corridor and anyone in the adjoining room as if there was no doors or walls between the rooms.

    Lovely hotel, great food and restaurant!
    Lovely rooms, restaurant was amazing and staff were brilliant serving us our meal. I was super impressed at the vegan options available in the restaurant for my evening meal
    For the price you pay would be nice to have a better hair dryer in the room. Paid for early check in but room wasnt quite ready when we got there. Were only left a small roll and a half of toilet roll in the room and two tissues in the tissue box.

    okay but disappointing compared to what we saw online
    the comfort of the beds and the white company products
    We went down to the restaurant to eat at 8:30, we asked for a table and we rudely got told theres nothing until 9 however there were empty tables (those arent going to be filled by people and have eaten within half an hour). She didnt ask if we were guests at the hotel, if we wanted to leave a name to come back, it was simply no. so for the rest of our stay we ate elsewhere. The bathroom also needs modernising. It was clean and obviously nice however it needs to match the modern vibe of the actual bedroom, walk in shower/ just modern.

    Staff were rude unfriendly in all areas . Bedding left on floor of room as room had to be converted to twin as I had booked very sloppy attention. Xmas day breakfast was poor and staff clearly did not want to be working no happy Xmas on arrival just a mman who clearly did not care and I had to wish him happy Xmas to get any response. On all occasions of breakfast we were left standing for ages the told we were not booked . Im sorry but the amount of correspondence I had with hotel insisting I booked was ridiculous. We also waited for service at table and a huge wait for such a disappointing breakfast .Fruit was dried.up not good for fruit salad. .The breakfast room was not busy but the staff dragged themselves back and forth not even clearing tables. The spa staff were also very unfriendly when we got to spa . Changing rooms freezing . My telephone conversations with the spa was a worst experience as I then felt the receptionist was quite and patronizing. The whole experience of a Xmas away in the Lake District was spoilt by what should have been a Xmas to relax and remember . I feel that style of hotel was more than its actual substance it lack the right people either running or working for this hotel such a shame as it should have been a great place to stay.

    Was really expecting much more for 170 a night even at a peak time.
    Superb restaurant
    Was expecting more from our upgrade to a Signature room which was much smaller than Id anticipated. Thought that the glazing did far too little to quieten the all night long noise from the M6. Bathroom flooded when using the hand held shower thanks to the open cubicle. Not impressed at all with drinking water only being available from dispensers at the end of the long corridor - not helped by children constantly running up and down to use them. Being charged the 10 to use the Spa but the pool was far too full to enjoy except for 4 hours mid day when we were sightseeing anyway.
