There are a lot of things that we were very disappointed with the hotel:
- Aircon didn't seem to work well. At night from midnight to about 2-3 am in the morning, it seemed to lose power and got very hot which woke us up from our sleep.
- Hotel staff decided to power jet clean the walk-way outside of the room (it was very noisy) right at the start of my toddler's nap (or anyone's after lunch nap). I had a hard time putting toddler to nap, and they stopped to move to another area after I told them that we could not sleep because of the noise.
- This is the worst: On the second night we were there, the room next door was having a Birthday party, despite every guest had to sign an understanding upon checking in that they would not have more than 4 people in the room, and no party. Despite desperately calling the front desk multiple times to help disperse the party, they did not reinforce the rule hard enough. They said that they would send the security guard up only at 10 pm, but honestly, it didn't sound any different until 10.30 pm. Despite some guests leaving, the party was ongoing until 3.30 am in the morning and we could sleep only then when the guests there decided to go somewhere else to party further. Imagine the stress of a mother trying to put a toddler to sleep, while she was crying and saying that she wanted to go home, that had ruined our staycation at this hotel completely. Needless to say, all of us didn't get any proper sleep. When we checked out, there was no word of apologizing or checking in on how we felt at all. Not only do I feel the staff was responsible for not protecting the welfare of their guests by keeping to their words, but I also think the noise affected us so much because of the poor insulation between rooms that made it sound as if the party was in our room instead of next door.
My advice is - to pick another hotel, as that would be what we do should we go to Sentosa again for a staycation.
