Superb
Good value hotel
We were welcomed on our arrival and shown to our room. Comfortable quiet room with a good shower. Breakfast was good and the staff were attentive, polite and friendly. Will stay again.

all in all the house was clean, cozy and the staff was super nice.
The house was super cute and quaint! Staff was super friendly and the food was very good! I loved that our room over looked the garden and that a fan was provided in the room. For the most part the house was nice and quiet and we didnt hear the other guests.
I would say the room we stayed in was right above the reception and kitchen. Our first night we could hear the reception staff speaking very loud well on to the night. Also we could tell every time we came back to our room after a day out that staff had been in the room to put more milk in the room for the tea station and to put in toilet paper in the bathroom but they never gave us new mugs, glasses, or spoons. It was a little frustrating to know someone was coming in to our room but wasnt actually cleaning or turning over the room fully . Lastly, the bed was a little too firm.

A pretty good hotel, conveniently located.
This is Oxford. Oxford is expensive. For the price and considering the location, Pickwicks is the best you will find without bankrupting yourself. It's not outstanding, but it is pretty good. It's in a great location for Oxford's (good) bus services, convenient for the JR hospital, and easy to reach from the (very busy) main roads leading into Oxford. The staff were very good, especially the lovely ladies who do the breakfasts.
Pickwicks could do with a little TLC, and a few improvements. Our room (11) has a cracked washbasin. It was cracked when we first stayed there three years ago! However, it holds water and doesn't leak. There's a cracked window pane. There's no grab rail in the shower cubical (good to have if you're elderly (which we are), and nowhere to put shampoo etc without bending to pick it up off the shower floor. Lighting within the room is poor, especially for ladies with make-up, hair etc. to do.

Would recommend Pickwicks Guest House for stay when visiting local areas
Good location for Churchill and John Radcliffe hospitals within easy walking distance. Guest house was warm and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Off road car parking and could leave car while visiting hospital.

Great location and price
Great location (we were staying for its closeness to the hospital). Staff and communications were great. The little touches like the toiletries, towel shaping, and tea making facilities were lovely. It is always great to have extra pillows in the room, and the look and feel of the linen was lovely.
The room was clean but hadn't been dusted, so there was visible dust on the lamps and bathroom shelf. The mattress was like laying on a slab of concrete. That being said, it wasn't uncomfortable, just extra firm, so I didn't feel that 'comfort' sleeping.
