Upon arrival, the clerk apologized and told me that they were overbooked and stated that he had trouble trying to contact me using the number provided in my booking reservation. I was told that they had a room for me at another hotel (Hotel Ruby) one block away and I was given a one-day free parking pass in the lot between the two hotels for my inconvenience.
When I arrived at Hotel Ruby I asked the clerk what phone number they had on file for me and it was the correct number but when I checked my phone there were no missed calls, interesting!! I also mentioned that the lot where I was given the free parking pass looked pretty sketchy since there was broken glass in several places. The clerk told me that it wasn't unusual for cars to be broken into there. On my way to my room, I noticed that there was what appeared to be a private bar connected to the first floor of the hotel and it was starting to get noisy since it was now past 11 pm, by 4 am it finally calmed down, good thing I only had to be up by 6 am!! The room smelled old and musty even though it looked like it was recently remodeled, It states that the rooms are non-smoking, I'm gonna guess that's probably true for the past 5 years but not for the previous 40 years
Given this horrible experience, neither of these hotels will ever have to worry about being overbooked because of a reservation from me!
