    Staff very attentive, a little loud first thing in the morning as they chatted. Breakfast was very good, large choise and very quick service.
    Single room a little small, bathroom tight but usable. no on site capability for evening meals so have to preorder disappointing. whole hotel a little dated and showing its age internally.

    Loved it. Hotel quite like a grand hotel on smaller friendlier scale. Room was generous single with a good size single bed. Lovely modern bathroom with great shower. Location superb - a 10 minute walk from sea front and town centre. It was very close to the river which has a ford. Amazing. Breakfast waiter served at table.
    May have had dinner there one evening but 6.30 - 7.30pm way too early for me. No big deal though, as was B&B basis.

    The room was really comfortable. The shower was lovely. Everything so clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and I would highly recommend eating here.

    Great staff, lovely food , great spot for walking into town
    Great location in lovely gardens above the town
    My room (16) was noisy as it was on the ground floor and under neath squeaky floorboards from the room above , also noisy in the morning due to staff talking loudly at 7 30 am opening up, and bins being emptied

    Great value hotel full of character ideally situated to explore local attractions.
    An exceptional boutique-style hotel in a leafy setting on the outskirts of Sidmouth's quaint town centre. The hotel represented good value for money and provided accommodation of the highest calibre. The cooked breakfast was delightful and there was always an offer of further helpings and coffee top-ups.
