The hotel operation was appalling! Upon arrival there was no one to receive us at the door and the porter was apparently busy. A sloppily dressed waiter told us to park on the road and I dont know how often he said whatever. The receptionist was trying to be nice despite the obvious dissatisfaction with the treatment we had received upon arrival. After lugging our cases in from wherever and receiving our key cards, they didnt work. Not the first time, and also not the second time I went to reception. Another house boy was kind enough to let us in the room so we could stop waiting in the hallway. The average, small and boxy room that comes at a price of around 350 with breakfast had all facilities needed, but looked tired, as did the rest of the hotel. To add to our premium experience, the toilet didnt work. When we went for a drink in the lobby and asked for nuts as a nibbles with our drinks, it was something unheard of and almost offensive to ask such a thing. They do canaps instead before dinner, in the meantime there is just nothing to offer. When questioned about why we pay the same price as my parents in law, but only receive breakfast, while they got breakfast and dinner, the manager met us with an attitude of that is your problem, thats what you booked on booking.com, your parents booked with us direct. There was no effort in any way to acknowledge the frustration we were experiencing, especially since we had come out specifically to celebrate my mother in laws birthday. The whole stay was an absolute shambles, a delusion of grandeur with an appalling attitude. Travelodge experience for Hilton prices. Never again!
