Was nice but....

The building and architecture was nice for an old building. The room was nice with the little small things the hotel staff did in the room.

The late night arguments and shouting coming from neighbouring rooms.

Great stay at the Swan Hotel.

The staff were amazing and very helpful and polite. The food was first class and nothing was too much trouble. When my wife asked for something vegan that was not on the menu the reply was "the chef can do anything you'd like!" Never had that response before in a restaurant. The location was perfect smack in the centre of Wells and easy to find. Parking is very limited at the hotel but it was the Christmas market weekend.

Excellent location and lovely room (Cathedral suite)

The location is fantastic, right in the centre of Wells within a stones throw of the cathedral. We stayed in the Cathedral suite and the size of the room was first class with a great view from each of the windows of the cathedral. The free parking on site was welcome as well and not as tight as i first thought it might be. I drive a Ford Mondeo saloon and fitted easily.

I would say that the only thing which bothered me was for the price of the room, i would have expected breakfast to be included. That said, 15 each for breakfast wasn't unreasonable and the breakfast was fully stocked and delicious. The hotel were made aware that this was for my partners birthday as well and i was a little disappointed that there wasn't something done for this, even if it was a card (i understand why though as some people may take the mickey). Though the receptionist did wish a happy birthday, which was a nice touch.

The property was beautiful, clean and centrally located. The staff were faultless, especially the manager Martin, he should be very proud of such a great team.

Loved it and would definitely stay again.

Room was exceptional. Staff were lovely. Breakfast was enormous!

Room was by the alley between the two buildings and the beer kegs being changed at 6.30am was very noisy

Welcoming, friendly staff, in the perfect location! The hotel setting was beautiful and the rooms were perfect for what we required.

All guests arrived at the same time for check in, so parking was quickly full up, although staff were helpful in signposting us to nearest car park, you do then have to pay for parking.

Lovely friendly hotel, great location, good food

We only had breakfast and drinks in the bar while we were there. The food was very good and arrived hot. Good choice of breakfast. The bar was nice and clean and all the staff we saw and spoke to were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was in a great location ideal for looking around the area and walking into the city.

Our room was a bit disappointing as we stayed in a room with a four poster bed. The wood on the supports had dust on it where obviously it had been missed and the mattress was uncomfortable. The sink in the bathroom also had dust on it. Maybe cleaned in a rush and missed. Did not put us off as the rest of the room was clean and tidy.

Short stay, very comfortable and nothing went wrong!

The rooms were very comfortable and included a bath. The staff were efficient, the breakfast was very good and generous. There was a very comfortable ambience in the lounge/bar. I was able to charge my electric car overnight.
