    The White House Inn in Whitby offers lovely views and a comfortable bed. Some guests enjoyed a homemade meal with decent portions, while others had a satisfactory breakfast despite a mix-up in the or (Read More)der. The afternoon tea featured a good selection of treats, although some found it too cream-heavy. The bar area is welcoming with a roaring fire, dog-friendly atmosphere, and satisfying homemade pies. Overall, the staff are friendly and offer good service.

    The breakfast area is fabulous with wonderful views. The hot food is usually very good but unfortunately this time (weve stayed here four times before) was a bit cold. Silly things like the fruit juices, bread for toast and butters very often run out and then you need to find someone to ask. These should automatically be restocked when low,
    Weve stayed in the annexe rooms before and they offer everything you need. However, bathroom could have been a lot cleaner and very cold. Rooms are looking tired now and could really do with freshening up. Also would be helpful to have a grab rail on bath and not to put table and chairs in front of the disabled toilet blocking its use. Also as its a busy pub so even if you are a resident it doesnt mean youll be able to get a drink and sit down in the bar

    Nice place, but beware of the annexe in cold times as they take a lot of warming up. Breakfast, good
    The breakfast was very nice, there was plenty of choice, the view was good overlooking a golf course , the bed was comfortable and there was a good choice of teas and coffees in the room.
    We stayed in the annexe, this was quite cold when we got there, although we put on the radiator and an electric seperate radiator, it took a long long time to warm up. We also went out on the evening and came back to have a couple of drinks only to find the whole place was in darkness and closed, There was not much light opposite the place we were staying which meant parking was quite difficult and as it had been raining constantly the grass verge was soaken and when i got out of car I was covered in mud.

    Not the anniversary weekend we had hoped for!
    We have previously stayed at this hotel and had a room indoors which was nice. The location is great, a 15 minute walk into Whitby, but we enjoy the walk. It's also good because it has a car park on site, so no need to worry about getting parked.
    This time we had an annex room which was separate to the hotel/Pub. It was really small, particularly the bathroom. The shower was terrible and had no pressure when we tried to use the hot water, so had a bath instead. There was mould on the blind and most of the TV channels were unavailable. The room was fairly shabby and in need of some TLC.

    Fairly pleasant overall
    Good location just on the outskirts of town. Stunning views from the restaurant at breakfast (we didn't have a room with a view). Parking free and easy. Cooked breakfast very nice. Staff friendly and helpful.
    Initial impression slightly disappointing for the fee paid and photos seen online. Creeky floor and thin walls made room slightly noisy when neighbours in. TV way too small to be any use. Some touches of the decor seemed a little old/tired.
