Great location, right in the center. City view. Courteous staff. Excellent breakfasts. Pleasant little things like a welcome drink and a bottle of wine waited for us in the room.
There was high humidity in the room, all things were a little damp, low sound insulation, and poor ventilation, and the bathroom smelled like sewage. On the second night, a plumber broke into our room, thinking no one lived there. On the evening of the third day at 10 o'clock they were hammering something on the floor. The hotel is located in an old building and has all the disadvantages associated with it.

Fantastic central location with amazing views, excellent breakfast, and very helpful staff.
The advertised seating area in the room was lacking (just one chair in a corner). The air conditioning worked but did not seem to lift the temperature in the room (so it was a bit chilly).

The hotel seems to be a beautiful old estate that is on a hill overlooking the city; absolutely stunning views. The service is great, wonderful staff. The food was excellent.
The rooms are cute; but, at least in the pink building, the wooden floors are not soundproof and we could hear the guests above us. Also, the hotel is located next to the Elevador do Lavra. You are overlooking most of the old city, which is an impressive view; but it can be tiring (if not difficult) to get to the hotel on foot (without taking the funicular).
