    The Zanzibar Bay Resort & Spa is praised for its stunning weather and ideal environment for fishing and boat cruises. The service is good and staff are friendly, although some updates and repairs are (Read More) needed. The food is average and an additional tourist tax is charged upon check-in. The hotel has great pools and ocean views, but the beach is rocky and not suitable for swimming. Some guests had issues with room smells. The resort offers a variety of activities, but there were some instances of rude staff and money being taken by employees.

    beach, but that is not hotels mistake. shower floors are very slippery when wet

    Absolute Value for Money!
    The service was absolutely amazing! The staff was friendly and and very helpful. Three staff member that stood out were Mr Nestory head of dining hall. Head waiter at Namaste Restaurant and Mr Roja tour and taxi concierge. Their service was above and beyond and it contributed to the comfort of our trip. They took great care of us our whole trip!
    Wished the rooms could have had mini bar fridges considering the heat.

    Food and resort are very good.
    Bar service could be slow - cocktails were made fresh which is one of the reasons. Quite far out - need transfers to get to tourist locations.

    My stay in Zanzibar
    Would like to commend the food and beverage team headed by Mr Nestroy by going above and beyond to ensure our stay was exceptional and comfortable even for our infant. Special mention for receptionist Gift and Samwel for all the support provided during our stay . Sure i will be back soon

    I liked the Ambiance and services. The hospitality and serenity too. It's cleanliness also.
    The mattresses require covers that prevent them from absorbing sweat. Lost my wallet with its contents, still hopeful it will be retrieved.

    Negligent management and staff dressed up in hibiscus flowers. RUN!
    My son was chased and attacked by a monkey on our second day of the stay. Staff didnt even blink or move to help even as the monkey was still hanging on to my 3 year old son and he screamed and cried. The animals are not to be fed or touched by this was allowed by staff and encouraged as they did the same. It seemed the monkeys were so used to being touched and fed that if you did not they become very aggressive. We were even a cup of whiskey to throw on my sons leg after the bite and had to beg for a shuttle to the hospital which was a hour a way for treatment. No manager ever spoke to us or checked in. Nothing was done. Staff gave false information my son had to have rabies shots, and 2 other medications. Apart from that wild dogs and cats who also attack roam freely. Bedding and towels old and smelly, food and shops expensive and cheap. Entire time was ruined by lack of real safety, customer service and negligence to follow a state, country rule that protects guess from wild animals. This hotel will be reported for such violations.

    It was good and hope I could extend more days to explore the place.
    I haven't had any breakfast since I checked in around 12pm and checked out the next day early morning. However, the receptionist gave me a free dinner pass which I was so happy and grateful!
    The blackout every now and then. But was alright in the evening.
