Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Guwahati - Transfer to Cherrapunji
  • On arrival at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station, get greeted by a representative who will help you with the transfer to Cherrapunjee.
  • En route to Cherrapunjee, take a stopover at the Umiam Lake(Barapani) and the Elephant Falls.
  • Check in to the hotel at Cherrapunjee and take some rest to relieve yourself of the stress from the travel.
  • Overnight at Cherrapunjee.
  • In the morning, enjoy a delicious breakfast. 
  • Proceed to Tyrna Village, the starting point of the Nongriat trek. 
  • On the way, take a stopover at Nohkalikai Falls and Seven Sisters Fall.
  • Reach Tyrna Village later in the noon and trek to the Double Decker Root Bridge (Nongriat) with a local Guide.
  • Climb back 3000 steps to Tyrna village, where your driver will be waiting to transfer you to Cherrapunjee.
  • Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.
  • Enjoy a delicious breakfast in the morning.
  • Depart Cherrapunjee for Dawki Island, a magnificent island in the Jaintia Hills. The Umngot River passes through the village, making it attractive.
  • You can also opt for indulging in different activities such as Boating, River Rafting, Kayaking, Cliff Jumping Etc. at an extra cost.
  • Reach Shillong in the evening after spending a great day at Dawki.
  • Overnight stay at Shillong.
  • Enjoy a delicious breakfast in the morning.
  • Then a representative will pick you up from the hotel and drop you off at Guwahati Airport/Railway station in a private vehicle for your return journey, bringing the experience to an end.

Ms Rumi coordinated the trip excellently and had a professional experience in navigating the trip w (Read More)ith confort Sharing some insights of the trip Had a mind blowing trip to Kaziranga National Park and the tourist spots in Meghalaya On the jeep safari at Kaziranga was greeted by the enchanting landscape of sprawling grasslands, lush forests and shimmering riverbanks. The sight of a rhino grazing peacefully amidst the tall elephant grass was breathtaking combined with exhilarating excitement of spotting the tiger Meghalaya, a stunning state in the northeastern region of India renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, lush greenery and vibrant culture. **Shillong:** Often called the "Scotland of the East" it offers picturesque views, rolling hills and vibrant colonial architecture. The scenic Shillong Peak provided stunning panoramas of the surrounding valleys. **Cherapunjee (Sohra):** The Nohkalikai Falls, the tallest plunge waterfall in India is a breathtaking sight **Mawsmai Caves:** The Mawsmai Caves present a fascinating world of stalactites and stalagmites. ** Living Root Bridges:** The trek of 7000 steps to the double-decker root bridge is particularly famous and provides a unique experience as I walked across the bridge which continues to grow .**Dawki:** Dawki river features crystal-clear waters that reflect the sky, creating a mesmerizing view. Boating on this river is a truly ethereal experience and is on the border of India and Bangladesh and was able to traverse across and back .**Laitlum Canyons:** Stunning panoramic views of the lush green valleys below, the Laitlum Canyons are a hidden gem . The steep cliffs and rolling hills create an awe-inspiring landscape and an " Edge of the world" experience The diversity of flora and fauna across the trip was striking with the sounds of chirping birds and rustling leaves creating a symphony of nature. The changing landscape offered breathtaking views at every turn with picturesque sunsets casting golden hues over the horizon and provided a magical backdrop for my adventure Since it was my first visit to Ma Kamakhya temple, it would have been better if i was briefed earlier on the entry . First of all thankyou for all the arrangements, we had a great time in Meghalaya. Starting from getting the quote and customising it as per our request - you did a great job. Whenever we had any q (Read More)uery, you were there anytime without any hesitation. Tapen Das (cab driver) - He was too good, his attitude shows his experience. The drive from dawki to mawlylong along the border fence in pitch dark will be memorable for ever. He was calm & composed and ensured no rash driving. Accomodation : As per our package category - we had better homestays with lovely views and calm surrounding. Before the trip, I heard from friends that food will be not comfortable but we had a decent meal in all the stays. Though it was a short trip, thanks for making it more memorable. I will definitely recommend Airgennie to my friends.
