With only 490 cases of Coronavirus and 5 deaths, Bali is on the track of coronavirus cases dropping even as Indonesia continues to see a rise. Bali government feels strongly that it will be able to welcome foreign tourists from October. Yes, you read it right. If not until now, Bali should be on your radar for places to visit after the pandemic blows over.
Even now, Bali has opened two popular beaches - Canggu and Padang - on June 1st for foreign tourists. The Secretary of the Ministry, Ni Wayan Giri Adnyani, in an official statement, mentioned, “If the infection curve continued to improve, the tourism ministry is looking to revitalize destinations and do promotional work for some parts of the country, including Bali, between June and October.”
Domestic tourism is open in Bali with the government adopting a CHS (Cleanliness, Health and Safety) programme to ensure hotels and restaurants along the island can provide hygienic services to their customers. The first resort island to open in Bali will be Nusa Dua.
Travelling to Bali will require tourists to get tested for Covid-19 and only when the results prove negative, they will be allowed on the island. Tjokorda Oka Arta Ardhana, Deputy Governor of Bali is also of the opinion that “tourism clusters” or also known as travel bubbles might be adopted to open Bali’s tourism industry in a safe and secured manner.
