Silhouette Island is the third largest granitic island of Seychelles. located northwest of Mahe. The main settlement of this uninhabited island is La Passe, where the popular Hilton Hotel is located. Silhouette Island is known for its rich biodiversity comprising endemic and threatened species. Seychelles sheath-tailed bat, Seychelles giant tortoise, Seychelles kestrel, Seychelles blue pigeon are some of the rare species spotted here. Now a protected area, the island is designated as a marine national park. Silhouette Island has no roads or cars, just a few footpaths and electric cars (these belong to the Hilton Hotel).
