About Amarnath Tourism: One of India’s most visited pilgrimage sites, Amarnath in Jammu and Kashmir, is primarily dedicated to Lord Shiva. According to Hindu mythology, he supposedly revealed to Goddess Parvati the secret of life and eternity at this spot. Alongside its holy sites, Amarnath’s breathtaking natural beauty also attracts large crowds. Holidify’s numerous Amarnath tour packages are a great way to embark on a spiritual journey and explore the region.

Starting from Pahalgam or Baltal and ending at the Amarnath Cave, the Amarnath Yatra is one of the most important pilgrimages in the country for the devotees of Lord Shiva. Dating back almost 5,000 years, the holy cave housing a Shivalinga made entirely of ice is set amidst magnificent mountains and is mostly covered in snow. It is reachable on foot and via helicopter.

The inside of the cave also contains ice formations dedicated to Goddess Parvati and Lord Ganesh. If you travel to Amarnath between July and August, you might be able to attend the Shravani Mela. Baltal, with its vast meadows, serves as one of the base camps for the Amarnath Yatra and is also a popular resting spot for pilgrims to pitch in their tents for an overnight stay.
