The Roman Theater is an archaeological site that was built around 138 and 161 CE, under the rule of the Roman emperor Antoninus Pius, that now lives in ruins. It could once accommodate 6,000 people and was positioned northward to shield spectators from the sun. Roman theater has a long and illustrious history. Theater productions are believed to have started in ancient Rome as early as in the 4th century BC.
