I went to Bharatpur in January. The best time to visit the national park is in the morning. We left at 7am and were able to see a lot of birds. Since the national park is widely spread, take a bicycl (Read More)e or a rickshaw for the tour. The rickshaw pullers act as perfect guides for a mere pittance.
If you are a student, carry your ID card to get discount.

- Bharatpur is just amazing. Go sometime between Nov-Feb and you will be just amazed to see so many kind of birds in such huge numbers).

- Loved the bird sanctuary. Do take the guided tours by rickshaw pullers - they really know their birds. Plan on spending the entire day in there - you'll only like it if you have the patience.
- (Read More) Keep you sunscreen and sunglasses handy. The ride into the National Park would be quite dusty, so go prepared for that. For visiting temples, appropriate rules apply.

- Bharatpur, especially between Nov-Febb season is just amazing. The variety of bird species, their quantity is mindblowing. Take a few walk or cycle rickshaw and ask the rickshaw-wala to tell you ab (Read More)out the birds (for additional guide charges). Spend an entire day from 6am to 3pm for a complete experience.

To explore Bharatpur in a satisfying manner, one would require about 2-3 days. The Keoladeo Sanctuary is breathtakingly beautiful and you can watch bird species like Siberian crane,greater spotted ea (Read More)gle, Indian shag, ruff, painted stork and white spoonbill here. Several species of deer, monkeys and small carnivores are also found here.

You can see the Keoladeo Ghana Bird Sanctuary and then head to Agra. They are pretty close.
